This fascinating exhibition has been realized in collaboration with the National Cattle Museum. Various breeds and crosses are shown, and the cow of the past and present is shown. The domestication and the development of cattle as a supplier of food for humans are also depicted. A prominent place has been reserved for the the cow in paintings. Jan de Haas (1832-1908), representative of the Hague School, is possibly the best painter of the individual cow. Dr. Marleen Felius (1948) is currently the painter par excellence that beautifully pictures the cow in all its diversity. Interesting works of both painters are shown. This exposition was made possible with subsidy from the province of Gelderland.
